I went to Tuscany tour with members of Photoclub Zagreb. We went there for a weekend trip and exhibition opening. Our hotel was in Firenza. 30 photographers, we had so much fun taking pictures. Check why Toscana is worth visiting.
We visited few beautiful cities. Pisa is a city in Tuscany, central Italy. This is by the main reason people visit Pisa- because of a structure that is known worldwide. The Campanile or bell tower of Pisa Cathedral is a beautiful structure in it’s own right, but it has been made famous by its noticeable tilt. Constructed in the 12th century after the cathedral, it was soon found that the foundations were unstable and the building began to lean.
Although Pisa is known worldwide for it’s leaning tower, the city contains more than twenty other historic churches, several medieval palaces, and many museums. Everyone comes here to see the tower… But Piazza dei Miracoli is also home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy, the Duomo of Santa Maria Assunta. This church is an excellent example of Roman-Pisan gothic architecture and is completely made of white marble.
We also visited Lucca, a city on the Serchio River.
Lucca is known as one of the Italian’s “Città d’arte” (Arts town), thanks to its intact Renaissance-era city walls. It is very well preserved historic center with a lot of buildings and monuments.
Our next stop was Modena. Here, on the flat plains of the slow-flowing Po, lies one of the nation’s great gastronomic centres.
The town is well-known all over the world, especially for some famous people who were born and lived here such as Enzo Ferrari and Luciano Pavarotti. It is also known for gastronomical products, such as tortellini, Lambrusco wine, balsamic vinegar, and Parmesan cheese.
And finally, we attended great exhibition in Firenze, where we met members of Club Idea Fotografica and had good day together.
